What LineBoss does with your data
Effective 22 July 2026
The short version
- You play under an anonymous ID — no name, email, or sign-up.
- Your progress is stored so you can keep playing between sessions.
- Ads come from Google AdMob and maps from Mapbox — both are third parties with their own policies.
- You can permanently delete everything from inside the app, any time.
LineBoss is a map-based bus-tycoon game made by Alfred Toscha (“we”, “the developer”). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the control you have over it. We keep data collection to what the game needs to run.
Your anonymous account
When you first open LineBoss, we create an anonymous account through Firebase Authentication. It is a random identifier — not linked to your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID. The company name you choose is game content you typed yourself, not personal information we ask for.
Game data
Your progress — cash, owned stops, routes, buses, company value, and leaderboard standing — is stored with Google Firebase (Firestore) so it survives between sessions. It is tied to your anonymous ID. Your company name and company value appear on the in-game leaderboard, visible to other players; nothing else about you is shown.
Advertising
LineBoss shows optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob may access advertising identifiers and device information and use them to select and measure ads. On iOS we ask, through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether you allow tracking for personalized ads — if you decline, you still get ads, just non-personalized ones. Buying the Hydro Bus removes pop-up (interstitial) ads; the optional rewarded ads stay available if you choose to watch them for a bonus.
Purchases
In-app purchases (the Hydro Bus) are handled by Apple. We never see or store your payment details. Apple sends the app a receipt, which our server verifies with Apple’s App Store Server API to unlock what you bought. We store only that a purchase was made.
Maps
Map tiles and styling come from Mapbox. When the map loads, Mapbox may collect technical and usage data as described in its own privacy policy.
On-device features
Reminder notifications are scheduled and shown entirely on your device. No notification data leaves your phone.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. It is processed by the service providers that make the game work, each under its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase & AdMob — accounts, game data, advertising
- Mapbox — maps
- Apple — purchases
Keeping and deleting your data
Your game data is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and everything in it any time from the company screen (“Delete account”). Accounts that go unused are cleaned up automatically: owned stops are released after 5 days of inactivity, and the account is fully deleted after 10 days.
Children
LineBoss is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will remove the data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to certain processing. Because you can delete everything yourself in-app, that is usually the fastest route — but you can always reach us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and its effective date.
